Why My Answer Is Always “I Know a Guy”
Moving to Charlotte means needing a lot of people fast. Here’s why my answer is always “I know a guy” for lenders, contractors and more.

Charlotte, N.C. — A few days before one of my clients closed, her plan was simple. Trade in her car the next day, pick up the new one, and get ready for the move.
Then her husband sideswiped something backing out of the garage.
She called me stressed. I said, “Oh, I know a guy.” One call to my friend who owns a detail shop, and he buffed it out for about $50. She traded the car in right on schedule. And when she picked up her new car? She went right back to him for window tint.
That’s what I mean when I say I’m the plug.
Buying a home is really about people
When you move to a new city, you don’t just need a house. You need a whole team, and usually all at once:
- A lender who knows the local down payment and no-PMI programs
- A closing attorney (in North Carolina, attorneys handle closings)
- A home inspector who explains things in plain English
- Movers, cleaners and a handyman for the little stuff
- Contractors, painters and landscapers after you move in
- Even a detail shop, apparently
If you’re new to Charlotte, you don’t know who’s good yet. I do. I’ve been doing this since 2015, and I’ve built a list of people I trust because my clients have trusted them too.
Why it matters when you’re relocating
Moving from out of state means you can’t just drive by, ask a neighbor or check with a friend. You need someone local who can make one call and get it handled. That’s me.
So, what do you need?
Buying, selling, or just trying to figure out Charlotte before you move? Hit me up. If I can’t help, I know a guy who can.
Tell me about your move, check out my neighborhood guides, or call/text me at 980-414-4107.
